This is a personal site. I write articles, and you can subscribe to hear about new ones. That is nearly the whole story, so this page is short and specific rather than long and vague.
If you subscribe
The subscribe form asks for your email address and which topics you want. That is all it stores: your address, your topic choices, whether you confirmed, and the date. No name, no IP address, nothing else.
It is double opt-in. Nothing is sent until you click the link in a confirmation email, so somebody cannot sign you up. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately.
I use your address to email you when I publish. I do not sell it, rent it, share it, or add it to any other list. It is not used for advertising and it is not connected to any of my businesses’ customer systems.
If you visit
The site runs first-party analytics, loaded from brightpresencedigital.com, which is my own business and my own server. For each page view it records the page, the referring page, your IP address, the approximate city and region worked out from it, your browser, operating system and device type, and a visitor hash.
There are no advertising trackers, no marketing pixels, no cross-site cookies and no third-party analytics provider. Nothing is sent to Google Analytics or anything like it. The data sits on a private single-tenant server I operate and it is never sold or shared.
Private event pages
Occasionally this site hosts an unlisted page for a private event. If you RSVP through one, it stores your name, email, whether you are coming, guest count and names, any dietary note you write, and your message. Those are used to run the event and nothing else.
How long I keep it
Indefinitely. There is no deletion schedule and no expiry clock. I keep my own records for as long as I am running things, because a small operation that discards its own history loses the ability to answer questions about its own work.
That does not override the next section. If you ask me to remove you, I will.
Removing yourself
Unsubscribe from any email and you are off the list straight away. If you would rather I deleted your record entirely, or you want to know what I hold about you, email scott.rocca.pa@gmail.com and I will handle it within 30 days. A person reads that inbox, and that person is me.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect their information. If I find out a child has subscribed, I remove it.
